Nickie Holford grew up in London, moving first to Suffolk in the late 90’s before settling in Norfolk around seven years ago where she currently lives and works.
She is inspired by bold use of colour, urban landscapes and exploring the connection to nature, self and others, finding beauty in the everyday.
Artists who demonstrate a bold use of colour or the sublime portrayal of light within a painting continue to influence Nickie in her work, while her background in technical theatre also has a part to play in the subjects and imagery which interest her.
Although Nickie works mainly in acrylic or oil paint, she enjoys working and experimenting with a variety of media to create her work, including watercolour, spray paint and pencil/graphite., depending on her emotions and mood at the time of creating her work.
Nickie is a member of Easterly Artists, the Visual Artist’s Association (VAA) and Eastern Contemporary Artists.
