Connection is the solo exhibition by Nickie Holford, which is currently taking place at No 36, theartworkshop Gallery, Gorleston on Sea.
Nickie has recently been expanding on the idea behind a diptych she created at the end of 2023. With everything that’s going on globally, it feels that people are drifting further apart rather than coming closer together, and it feels like we’re going backwards in terms of tolerance and understanding towards others deemed to be ‘different’ from ourselves.
The exhibition is based on the theme of connection between us all, celebrating differences but also the things we have in common in a time when it feels like we’re growing further apart as a global community. Nickie is working on exploring the connection and commonalities between us, while also celebrating the differences, through a series of portraits to demonstrate the beauty in each and every one of us.
| The exhibition runs from 24th April – 11th May 2024 at No 36 theartworkshop Gallery in Bells Road, Gorleston on Sea. The gallery will be open Wednesday to Saturday each week during the exhibition, from 10am to 4pm (apart from Saturday 4th May when the gallery will be closed). Nickie will also be at a ‘Meet the Artist’ event at the gallery on Saturday 27th April between 1pm – 4pm. |
