Well June and July flew by! I’m not sure how we’ve got to the end of July already but here we are!
VAA Artist of the Year & Visual Art Open 2024
Some exciting news – I’m a finalist in the Visual Artists Association (VAA) Artist of the Year award with my submission ‘Lighting the Way Home’. All of the VAA finalists are shown on their website (view the VAA finalists).
There were over 1000 entries, and I’m down to the final 15, so I am over the moon! The winners will be announced next month, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
This painting has sold since my submission, but thankfully the finalists exhibition is a virtual one!
I’ve also been longlisted for the Visual Art Open 2024, so I’ll keep you posted on how both of these pan out.
Summer by the Sea
I’ve got a few new pieces on display at No.36 theartworkshop Gallery’s ‘Summer by the Sea’ exhibition in Gorleston on Sea.
There’s a wide range of beach, sea and Gorleston inspired art on display and all work is available for sale.
For me, the beach is about escapism and mindfulness. I created a textured beach inspired triptych for the exhibition (shown below in situ), which is available either separately, or together. Each piece measures 30cm x 80cm, and has been created using mixed media on deep edge canvas to give a real sense of the beach and ocean.
‘Summer by the Sea’ is open now, and running until 14th September. The gallery is located at 36 Bells Road, Gorleston on Sea NR31 6AN. Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday each week during the exhibition, between 10am-4pm.
